Podcasting: Storytelling & Audio Production
Do you have a favorite podcast? Ever wish they’d do a story on a topic you’re really interested in? This is your chance to make the podcast episode you’re always wanted to hear! In this course you'll gain the storytelling and audio production skills you need to create a compelling podcast. You’ll learn about podcast formats, scriptwriting and audio interviewing techniques. You’ll also work with common audio recording equipment and learn how to create soundscapes and mix together multiple audio files. By the end of the course, you’ll have produced a four-minute clip of a podcast episode.

Who Should Register
This course is for incoming ninth to 12th graders. There are no prerequisites. You should be prepared to research topics and write scripts.

This in-person course is taught on the UW Seattle campus. Students need to have access to a device they can record on each day, such as a smartphone or a tablet. Access to a laptop is strongly recommended for editing purposes.
