Young Actors Workshop: Comedy With Hijinks, Slapstick & More
In this course we’ll use the theme of hijinks as a jumping-off place to practice improvisation, scene work and theater games. You’ll learn fun and compelling voice, body and imagination exercises that are also a vital part of stage work. We’ll do daily warm-up sequences that emphasize listening, creative movement, play and spontaneous interaction. You’ll have the chance to work on monologues and group scenes from theater and film, and apply the tools and techniques you’ve learned. You’ll receive direction and constructive feedback as you work to create moments of conflict, celebration and everyday life on the stage. On the final day of class, you'll have the chance to share your work with family and friends.
Note: This is a skill-building course and does not culminate in a performance.
