Introduction to Astronomy
In this course you’ll learn the basics of stargazing, the mysteries of other worlds, how stars form and die, how galaxies are shaped and move, and the way the universe began. You’ll use the tools and methods that astronomers themselves use to uncover the mysteries of our universe. You can look forward to on campus field trips and activities integrating math, physics and science concepts.

- The scale of our solar system and how the universe began
- How to locate objects in the sky and in space
- Classification of stars and exoplanets and the life cycle of stars
- Galaxy classification and motion
- The evidence for dark matter and dark energy

This course is for incoming ninth to 12th graders.
