Introduction to Architecture

Be an architect for two weeks! In this course, you’ll learn how architecture can address social and environmental issues in your community, and work in teams to build your own architectural creations. Explore your inner designer and learn architectural techniques to express your ideas through a variety of hands-on physical projects. Get an introduction to drafting and model making.

  • Basic drawing and modeling skills
  • Design-related vocabulary
  • How to communicate architectural ideas with basic models and hand drawings
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills used in the design process
  • How to collaborate with peers to share ideas and tackle challenges

Who Should Register 

This course is for incoming sixth to eighth graders. You don’t need any previous architecture or design experience to enroll.
